Chelsea fired head coach, Graham Potter after a 2-0 home loss to Aston Villa on Saturday, 1st April 2023.
It was the Englishman’s 11th loss in 31 games since taking over from Thomas Tuchel on September 8 at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea has slipped to 11th in the Premier League, 12 points behind the top four, despite spending over £550 million on new players this season.
The club’s owners were “disappointed” with Potter’s dismissal.
Chelsea says Potter “has agreed to collaborate with the club to facilitate a smooth transition.”
Bruno Saltor, who worked with Potter at Brighton, will take over as interim head coach.
“We have the highest degree of respect for Graham as a coach and as a person,” said co-controlling owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali in a statement.
“He has always conducted himself with professionalism and integrity, and we are all disappointed with the outcome.”

Julian Nagelsmann is 50/50 on taking the Chelsea job, which proved too big for Potter.
Julian Nagelsmann, who was fired as Bayern Munich manager a week ago, has been installed as the favorite to succeed Potter.
According to recent reports from Germany, they are not convinced that he will want to leave Germany and accept another job right away.
Perhaps he’ll want to wait until the summer to allow himself a chance to recharge his batteries after leaving Bayern Munich.
Other jobs, such as the one at Real Madrid, may become available this summer.
However, the German media has reported that if Potter were to lose his job, Nagelsmann would be Chelsea’s top target.
It all depends on Nagelsmann’s desire to accept another job quickly.
