Another video of civilians assaulting a police officer has surfaced today, Saturday, April.
In the footage, passengers on board a taxi are seen wrestling with a police officer and attempting to take his gun.
According to William Evans Nkum, who has been investigating the circumstances behind the video, the event occurred on Friday about 4pm in the Kumawu neighborhood.
Corporal Sylvester Berhene has been recognized as the officer who was strangled by the unruly populace.
He was performing a search in the boot of a taxi cab as part of their patrol duty.
In an audio recording, a member of the patrol team describes what transpired on that fatal day;
“We saw a sack with a gun and a knife while searching the car boot.”

We assume they are hunters, but because the gun they were using was not registered, they struggled with and pounced on our brother.”
Meanwhile, this portal cannot independently authenticate the audio.
The cab with the license plate AS 9504-19 was carrying seven passengers.
The occupants, Edward Boateng, 20, Evans Addo, 20, and Yaw Kusi, 22, were apprehended on the spot.
The others escaped.
The monitoring squad arrested two of the fleeing suspects, Michael Owusu and Boateng Yaw, who were 28 and 20 years old, respectively.
All of the apprehended suspects are still in police custody, collaborating with the investigation.
Two of the attackers are on the run right now. Corporal Sylvester suffered bodily harm.
