Achraf Hakimi was officially charged with rape by French prosecutors on Friday, March 3, 2023, following a week of investigation into his case as a result of a young woman’s accusation.
At first, the alleged victim said she preferred to make a statement to filing a complaint. However, according to Le Parisien, the case was moved ahead by the Nanterre Prosecutor’s Office.

On February 23, allegedly, the event happened in Hakimi’s house.
Before she sent a message to a friend, who went looking for her, the complainant claims that the Paris Saint-Germain star sexually assaulted her.
The club “supports the player, who has categorically denied the allegations and trusts the court system,” according to a statement from PSG, “PSG is an institution that promotes respect on and off the pitch.”
Hakimi’s lawyers have consistently stated that “the accusations are misdemeanors” and that the Moroccan player has always been calm regarding the case.
Hakimi is under judicial oversight, although he is not prohibited from leaving French territory, according to the French broadcaster BFMTV.

This suggests that the PSG player might be able to play in the Champions League match against Bayern Munich in Germany.
According to several French media outlets, Achraf Hakimi’s lawyer, Fanny Colin, mentions a potential extortion attempt while vehemently disputing the accusations made against him.
The complainant “refused to make a complaint, to undergo the least medical and psychological check, or to be confronted with the Moroccan player,” according to Colin.
“In my opinion, it appears from the documents in the hands of the judicial authorities that Mr. Hakimi, in this case, has been the target of an extortion attempt,” the lawyer said.
The complainant’s lawyer argues that her client will only speak in court for her part.
