Selorm Adadevoh, Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, has stated that the updated MTN Data Zone bundle is currently being tested.
He promised that the product would be returned in a few days.
“You might have heard the NCA Director General mention the approved new data zone for higher prices.”
So we will bring it back, it is being tested, and we are talking about days, not weeks,” he stated at a media roundtable in Accra on Thursday, April 27.
On Wednesday, April 26, the Director General of the National Communications Authority (NCA), Joe Anokye, indicated that the revised product would be available soon.
Mr. Anokye stated that, this occurred after MTN filed a revised data zone bundle that satisfies the regulatory requirement.

MTN announced the discontinuation of the Zone Bundle on Wednesday, April 5, 2023.
According to a statement, “the suspension of the innovative Data Zone bundle is due to a review of the bundle offer in accordance with the Significant Market Power (SMP) directives applied to MTN Ghana in June 2020, not to be the lowest priced on any offer in the industry.”
“We are currently engaging and collaborating with the Regulator in order to reach an agreement on a revised DataZone bundle that can be reinstated as soon as possible.”

Mr. Anokye stated at a news conference in Accra, “MTN has since submitted a revised data zone bundle, which the authority has approved.”
“We anticipate that the product will be available soon.”
