Wes Brown, a former Manchester United defender who earned £50,000 per week at Old Trafford, has been declared bankrupt.
HMRC filed a bankruptcy petition against the former Red Devils defender on February 27 this year.
Which was approved at the High Court on April 12 and the order was published in The Gazette this week.
He also earned 23 England caps and, after leaving the Red Devils in 2011
He went on to play in India for Sunderland, Blackburn Rovers, and Kerala Blasters before retiring in 2018.
Brown was the last member of United’s 1999 treble-winning squad still playing professionally at the time.
Brown, who was born in Longsight, was the team’s youngest player when they defeated Bayern Munich 2-1 in Barcelona to win the Champions League and complete the treble.
It was reported last year that he had divorced his wife Leanne, 46, who appeared on the reality TV show Real Housewives of Cheshire.
The couple, who have three children, married in a lavish ceremony in 2009 at Peckforton Castle near Tarporley, Cheshire.

“Yes, we have a lovely life and all this money, and I’m not saying the money isn’t great, but when you’re in it, you’re living in this bubble,” Leanne said three years later.
While fans can be wonderful, they can also be cruel.
“It must be difficult for [footballers] to be on top one minute and hated the next for a bad kick or missing a goal.”

“It can be difficult to be alone a lot of the time.
The lads are frequently away, especially if they are involved in a high-profile club and England international.”
Brown is scheduled to play in a football match next month to benefit charities formed in the aftermath of the Manchester Arena attack.
The Celebrities team includes boxing legend Ricky Hatton, comedian Jason Manford.
And I’m a Celebrity winner Danny Miller, while the Legends team also includes former England internationals Nicky Butt and Trevor Sinclair.
Over the Coronation bank holiday weekend, the stars will compete to raise funds for five charities at Boundary Park in Oldham.
